LARAN Liquid Cooled Transmitters

LARAN is Dacta Broadcast's updated range of liquid cooled solid-state transmitters for the UHF broadcast market. The manufacturing process has been optimized to be extremely competitive, meeting customer needs in operating cost reduction, ease of maintenance and spare parts management.

The line perfectly meets the needs of customers that require medium power, being capable of delivering up to 23 kWps (8 kW DVB) in UHF, all within a single 19" rack.

The Multi-Standard platform encompasses all worldwide standards used for digital television transmission: DVB-T2, DVB-T/H, ISDB-T/Tb, ATSC 1/3 and Analog TV. The latest LDMOS technology and Dual-Cast support deliver compactness, reduced operational costs and a very quick return of investment.

The new line continues the traditional safety features of Itelco transmitters and improves the ease of operation thanks to the extremely simple design.

01

Closed Loop Cooling

Integrated cooling system with a closed loop circuit, redundant pumps, heat exchanger and a cold plate inside each amplifier module: the fluid releases heat to the external environment and is then routed equally to the module cold plates, keeping the power devices cool and greatly increasing their life and reliability.

02

Multi-Standard Capability

Multi-Standard platform covering DVB-T/H/T2, ATSC, ATSC 3.0, ISDB-T/Tb and Analog TV, with MEX II multi-standard exciter, adaptive precorrection and seamless inputs between ASI and IP in all SFN combinations.

03

Efficiency and Doherty Technology

Latest LDMOS amplifiers in Doherty configuration (AB class optional), with efficiency up to 38% and power factor above 0.95, for long term energy savings.

04

Redundancy and Service Continuity

Hot-pluggable HPA modules and optional Dual-Drive configuration. The transmitter is designed to operate even without the Control Logic section, maintaining its operating condition in the last selected state and minimising the likelihood of an off air condition.

05

Advanced Control and Monitoring

Complete management of all subassemblies via CAN-bus interface, with SNMP and Web Server remote control, remote software and firmware upgrade, optional internal GPS for SFN operation and a USB port on each unit for local use.
